In a sport where teams come and go, where sponsors and team names seem to change every season, there is one pro road racing team that fans count on year in and year out: The Rabobank Cycling Team.
Based in The Netherlands, Rabobank has been flying the familiar orange-and-blue colors of its title sponsor, an international financial services provider, for the past 14 seasons. Over that time, the team has collected more than 450 pro wins. Giant joined forces with Rabobank at the start of the 2009 race season, and the partnership proved an immediate success. Riding the innovative Giant TCR Advanced SL, Russian Denis Menchov gave the team its first ever overall victory at the Giro d'Italia last year.
The team also shined at the 2009 Tour de France, where Spanish climbing specialist Juan Manuel Garate earned a place in the record-books with a stage win atop Mont Ventoux, one of cycling's most hallowed grounds. Rabobank's status among the world's top road racing teams makes it a perfect fit for Giant. With a long pedigree of champions and a diverse roster of stage racers, sprinters, climbers and classics specialists, the team plays a major role in Giant's efforts to create, develop and test innovative new products at the highest levels of competition...
