For the fourth consecutive year, Giant was recognized for innovative product design at the Eurobike Awards. This year Giant received two awards: one for the Mio CS1 women’s bike, and one for the Twist Esprit.

The 2010 Eurobike Awards, organized by the iF International Forum Design group, featured a ceremony at the annual Eurobike trade show in Germany. The awards jury selected winners from more than 400 entries representing 25 nations.

The Mio CS1 combines fun and practicality with its innovative, women’s-specific design. With a low step-through frame, it’s a family-friendly bike that’s easy to ride while carrying bags or cargo. It features 26-inch wheels and balloon tires for stability and can be modified with panniers and baby seats front and rear. To deter theft, it comes with a steering lock and a rear cable that’s integrated with the carriers.

Giant’s second Eurobike Award went to the Twist Esprit. This 2011 model impressed judges with its innovative Hybrid Cycling Technology, which blends human pedaling power with battery-fueled electric power. It’s not a typical electric bike, but rather a bike with a quiet, seamless power boost that allows rider to pedal farther and faster with less greater ease. The Twist Esprit’s frame features a low top tube and comfortable, upright positioning for fun, carefree riding. Other technical features include a suspension fork and seatpost, plus a clever tool-free adjustable stem.

The Mio CS1 and Twist Esprit are the latest Giant bikes to be honored at the Eurobike Awards. Previous winners include the CityStorm (2007), CitySpeed (2008) and Accend (2009).

Both the Mio CS1 and Twist Esprit will be available as part of Giant’s 2011 lineup in select countries around the world.
